Not related to this post, but I have a group that meets on Monday night and last night we had a soup competition where we all brought a soup and we voted on a winner. I made the split pea soup from the first (or maybe second?) book. I don't even care that much for split pea soup but I had the split peas in the pantry. Four people at the meeting said they had never had split pea soup and were 'scared' to give it a try, but had to as it was a competition. Well...I WON! Actually, Michelle you won but I got the Starbucks gift card. Thanks.
#2 is so right on! LOL. We often have folks offering to bring snacks for D&D games and even there, I often make a back up munchie. Thankfully we do the holidays solo so I don't have to worry about managing relatives or who is bringing what.
Rather thankful that we don't have thanksgiving in Australia. It's straight from Halloween (which is mostly trick or treat for primary school kids) to Diwali to Christmas. But it's never too late to plan :)
The thing about onions killed me. One of my local stores did a special with onions at a dollar a pound, limit ten pounds, and I scammed the system for a whopping eleven pounds of onions for $11. Ok, not so much a scam since they let me do it, but I'll be riding that wave for a while. After all, how many onion baronesses can you claim to know?
Yep. The fact that I celebrated onions at only a dollar a pound really says something. They are on my list of things to try and grow, so we'll see what happens.
A group of friends have thrown a tamale making party every year for decades. We've not done it the past couple years because it's been the past couple years.😕 But it's back on next weekend and the jackfruit green chile filling will be the veggie star of the show. I ❤️ the cooking season!

YESSSS!!!! I love that you won. Well we won. You did all the hard work though. Congratulations!
I spit out my coffee at the list price of onions $5K. You owe me a keyboard (or four onions).

I know they mean it when they offer but I've been burned too many times. TRUST NO ONE lol
Do you have cameras in my home? Because seriously
lolololol
