Finally catching up on all the posts I missed during the end of the school year frenzy. This one was so beautiful. Loved every word. ❤️🏳️🌈 I especially loved your description of Kyria eating something she loves. I live for that kind of appreciation!
First of all, @SarahKnightAuthor, congratulations, you were comment 69 :) And now more seriously, we just celebrated Pride in Zurich yesterday and I once again joined my colleagues at Swiss Re to celebrate that even conservative companies like a +170 year old reinsurer have come a long way, as you highlight in your post Michelle! And indeed, we walk on the shoulders of giants. People who took a stand, spoke up, and made things change. It was harder then, but we should not become complacent. With the current resurgence of extreme right wing support we see across the globe, we need to maintain our hard won liberties as well as continue to push to destigmatise love in every form and push for true inclusion. Here's another hero to celebrate https://www.linkedin.com/posts/aliciamontoya_he-spurred-a-revolution-in-psychiatry-then-activity-6928942633058754560-1n9z
Love that she brought you a bouquet of carrots. It's so wonderful when you finally meet someone who just gets you. Gregg used to bring me Cinnaholics every time we had a date and I knew he was different. So happy for you both. Happy pride xoxoxo
KYRIA!!! I had no idea you were also raised JW. it can be such an isolating experience and so difficult to explain to people. I’m so happy you and Michelle found each other. The fact that you brought her carrots confirms my theory that you are the coolest human 😎
Another beautiful, heartfelt post. You are able to relay into words so well the love you share for not only your wife and delicious food but for everyone. Sending love ❤
I can't help but wonder how many people grew up in the same environment as me. "Tab A goes to Slot B". "Anything else is a SIN! AN ABOMINATION!!!!!!"
And then I found the real world and real people being themselves. Then followed the science and realized what a fucked up world they are trying to push on us. Love wins. Period. When we can all be ourselves the whole world is better.
Back in the day, about the worst thing you could be called was "queer" or butch or dyke. I wasn't, but I guess I dressed "boyish" enough that people thought I was. I was always a "Tom boy," as they say. Always disliked dresses and skirts.
I am proud to say I no longer own a dress or skirt and haven't for several years. It only took over 50 years.
(Dresses are a hard spot for me.)
Anyhow, lovely, lovely meeting up and love story, Michelle and Kyria. I hope you have many, many happy and content years together.
🏳️🌈 Happy priDEMONth. 😈 🌈 May everyone live safe and happy.

The best! I knew Gregg was smooth but cinnaholic is next level ❤️

Erin, it is definitely so hard to explain to others, so much trauma comes from it. Every day i'm healing and moving forward with my amazing wife. 💕
