Love my freezer! I buy local blueberries in season and pick about 50 pounds of blackberries from the vacant lot next door. Overnight oats and smoothies all year!
I grow tomatoes, including cherry tomatoes, roast them and make sauce. Still have 3 jars.
Same with 10 pounds of hatch chilies.
Also soups, stew, casseroles, curries.
Oh, and tomato/onion masala, apple sauce, bulk dates from CA (keeps the ants away)
Yes! Freezing hatch chilies and berries is the best. I used to live by a lot of U-Pick farms and I really miss it. It sounds like you've got a great set up John!
I just bought a fridge-freezer for the car. For the cost of a couple of restaurant meals, we can take our own meals with us on our road trip from WA to CA.
😂 LOL….freezer vs time capsule….my aunt was like that…seriously. For years my idea of frozen food is my leftovers…idk what I’d do without them… :). Beans, soup, grilled veggies…yes…potatoes meh, rice and pasta no, sauces salsa soups..absolutely
This is a great guide and I’m going to revisit this in the fall when it seems like there are suddenly a million things to do, combined with my desire for comforting foods like baked beans - mmm!
I agree Michelle the freezer is our friend 😊. I love pre-preparing foods like soups, chili, veggie burgers, I’ll even freeze leftover pancakes and waffles. I freeze so much that sometimes the freezer becomes my enemy 🤣🤣🤣 my daughter jabs at me constantly especially when we will cook a recipe thot requires only 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and I’ll freeze the rest and she’s saying, “everything in the freezer huh”.
This is such a great guide and deserves to be recognized twice yearly in my opinion. I really need to make some of this and freeze it. I can attest to the dumplings. I’ve made them into wontons and they were so good. Thanks Michelle, this will make busy days so much easier.

Frog tape is your friend in the kitchen.

Hugs and comfort in food and community…dena :)
We've had your artichoke chickenish patties and nuggets on hot 🤔 standby in the freezer since you first introduced the recipe. I LOVE the freezer!
My freezer has saved me so many times and you know it’s full of those patties too lol

Yes! Your freezer can get you through a lot if you just plan a little ahead
