Hey Pot Heads! No new recipe this week but I did make a video to help all of you get a little more confidence when it comes to shaping and baking your bagels. You know how to make and mix the dough; I have no doubt about that. But when it comes to shaping, I heard lots of you doubting yourselves. Not with me around damnit. Watch this quick video on how to turn your big glob of dough into 8 perfectly golden bagels. All you need is a little faith in yourself; activating your old Play-Doh muscle memory wouldn’t hurt either. I believe in you!
Do you need help creating a menu? Have questions about what to serve picky guests? Looking for suggestions for a dinner with vegetarians and meat eaters? Need a specific recipe that you can’t find anywhere? Pop into our Stir the Pot chat where all of us are standing by ready to lend a hand, make a suggestion, or just post a cute pet pic. It’s a great group of helpful fellow cooks who are committed to lifting each other up and sharing a laugh. It’s a great way to get ahold of me too. You can start your own thread with a question or pop under someone else’s and add your two cents. There’s no wrong way to chat. It’s a lot of fun and free to all paid subscribers. So if you are looking for a nice corner of the internet that feels like an early 00’s chat room, right this way.
Next week, I’m dropping three new holiday recipes here for you all: an entrée, a side, and sweet so that we can all get our menus set in advance for our holiday dining. There’s nothing like productive work to take the edge off of all our collective anxiety. Like I said yesterday, we have lots of fun stuff to look forward to. There will be good news, great parties, and lots of laughs just around the corner. I know it. The only way out is through so let’s get to planning all the parties on the other side of this moment. We’re gonna be hungry for joy AND dinner by the end of November.
Below are some of my classic holiday recipes from over the years to get you going before next week. Thanks again for spending your weekend with me. Have you made the bagels yet? Does this video make them feel a little less scary? Let me know about all your bagel adventures and what you’re planning to serve up at your next big party!
In the next few months I'm going to be amping up my social media content, if you don't already follow me on IG and Threads, you should. Snap photos of what you are stirring, tag me, and I’ll repost you. I’m on TikTok too but it’s mostly nonsense. OK let’s get planning.
